Happening now: house stuff

August 20, 2012

We did some stuff to the house! Namely: art work, kitchen hardware and curtains.

Recognize the center photo? It’s also the blog banner, ha! It’s from our honeymoon to St. Martin. We had photos printed onto stretch canvas (Cafe Press had a fantastic sale, and we decided to take advantage of it), and labored over which images to choose. From left to right: our trip to Vermont in March, honeymoon in St. Martin, California desert. Three places we’ve been that we’ve really loved.

We also had one made for over the dining room table. This is from last summer’s trip to Amish country. It was a shot of the sky in Pennsylvania at sunset. I love to look at this.

Next, we added kitchen hardware. Let me tell you, this was such a wonderful addition. We had become experts at sort of prying the cabinet doors open. Haha!

What am I doing while Michael is snapping these photos? Dodging them, and making hard boiled eggs. Very exciting.

And finally, we added curtains to the living/dining room. We happen to be pretty enamored with this pattern. I am really drawn to pop art prints (and they remind me of my dear friend, Anne, who also has a penchant for them. Case in point: I enlisted her help to choose our living room pillows. What can I say? The girl has taste.). Michael has called these our “doctor’s office waiting room, circa 1975” curtains. Seems about right.

That’s all for now!

ha! time to LOL because you are now the only person I know besides me who has chosen lovely square knobs 🙂 I was warned that they would become annoying very quickly because they’d very easily get turned slightly and then look obviously misaligned, but I threw caution to the wind and got ’em anyway. I still love them, but it’s an endless battle keeping them all perfectly positioned. (especially the most frequently used cabinets). Nice choice though! Looks fantastic!
