We’re back! (And we saw Garrison Keillor, and Natalie came to visit. And oh yeah, we moved!)

July 2, 2012

Phew! We are all moved in! I am so excited. We were hard at work for the last 6 months, between getting the paperwork side of things ready for this house, and then also choosing a palette and furnishings. Let me show you a sneak peak of a few things. We still have a little bit left to do (hang artwork, install organization system into first floor coat closet) but otherwise, we are in fine shape.

Fair warning: this post has a ton of photos!

The master bedroom:

Seating area in our office. I absolutely love sitting here.

Dining room table – reclaimed wood.

This is my new makeup organization system. It’s from Container Store, which is a place where my Type A self could just die happy.

Oooh the pillows Anne helped me choose for our couch. There’s an accent wall in the living room (not pictured) that is yellow, and I wanted something with yellow in it for the pillows. Also the blue stripe matches the half bath downstairs. I pretty much adore these colors together.

The half bath. I wanted it to look like a Tiffany box when you open the door.

On Saturday, we went out to Tanglewood to see the live recording of A Prairie Home Companion. Are you a fan of Lake Wobegon? We are! We were thrilled to go, and we had a blast.

First, we had some yummy Moroccan food for lunch and then we headed over to WEBS. Who is thinking about yarn when it’s 97* out? Me.

Then we hit the road and headed to Lenox.

And ended up here:

And watched Garrison Keillor and Heather Masse (huge talent) walk through the crowds before the show began:

And we took our seats and thoroughly enjoyed:

The DiGiallonardo Sisters were contributors to the show, and we have to say – amazing! Between them and Heather Masse, there was SO MUCH talent on the stage. Also – Arlo Guthrie was there! What a show.

And on Sunday – Natalie came to town! So. Much. Fun. First stop: The Barking Crab for lunch.

And we saw a ton of tall ships!

We topped it all off with a trip to the North End, gelato at Cafe Vittoria (where we managed to snag a table despite the Italy/Spain game that was on!), and it was just really so wonderful. What a pleasure it is to have such a dear friend visiting. I love you, girl!

That’s all that’s happening in our world right now – and it’s enough. I am just settling in and we are enjoying the heck out of our new home. I’ll be back in the kitchen ASAP and have some new goodies to show you. 🙂
