Memorial Day: Bar Harbor, Maine

Happy Memorial Day! It’s the unofficial start to summer. We decided to go to Bar Harbor, see the oceans and the mountains, eat some wonderful food, and hike Cadillac Mountain. We did the South Ridge Trail, and it was nothing short of breathtaking. You hike 4 miles up to the summit, and there you’ve got a 360 degree view of the ocean. What more could you ask for?

If you go, we highly recommend a few things: The Bayview Hotel (outstanding customer service, clean as can be, and has a pool with an ocean view, and they were kind enough to accommodate my gluten free needs at breakfast), and Mache Bistro, for modern French food.

We spent some time talking about what Memorial Day means to us, and how grateful we are for those who fought for our freedom, and how we remember and honor those who lost their lives.
